Michael Paris interview by Virginia Webb TechEdge Radio 19 March 1999 http://techedgeradio.com/broadcasts/techedge031699.ram Subject: Lockdown2000 Virginia Webb: "What are some of the features of the program that you did create, Lockdown2000, I know you developed this for your own company, Harbor Telco, but then you realized it should and could become a stand-alone product. So what are the features that you initially started out with in it and then what have you added on?" Michael Paris: "Right, originally, when we found this gaping hole in the Internet as far as people being able to access your computer network shares over the net, we developed a program to be able to block access to those network shares. There wasn't anything built in to do it in Windows 95 or Windows 98. So that's originally what the program came out to be, then when the Back Orifice trojan was widely publicized of course we built in the detection and the removal for the Back Orifice trojan. And now with all the many other trojans coming out of course we've added a lot into the program, we've had to add the generics in there which basically will detect future trojans for you so you don't have to worry about signature file updates all the time."
